From Sara:
I’ve been involved with Leading for Life since its inception in 2006 and have played a central role to making the conference happen every year since. Each year, I leave amazed and inspired at the calibre and passion of the young leaders I meet. Young leaders who want to make the world a better place and have a vision to see life with God become a reality for everyone in their communities. Young leaders who have big vision for whole-life transformation across Europe.
What makes me most excited is that I know these dreams of change aren’t just going to be good ideas. Because of their gifting, I’ve seen these leaders turn their vision into reality and have seen communities transformed as a result.
This cycle ride will raise money for young leaders from soft-currency countries where leadership training does not exist and coming to a conference like this would be beyond their financial means. The money raised from this ride will provide scholarships for leaders from Albania, Central Asia, and Romania – 3 countries where the church is still working to establish itself as it emerges from Communism. Money raised will also provide necessary funding for development of post-conference resources that will further the impact of Leading for Life as well as other important aspects that will make this a successful 2-1/2 days.
From Zi-Su:
In 2006 I was one of the young leaders whose lives have been transformed and never the same since Leading for Life. I can still vividly feel the sense of relief and encouragement that there are people who knew what I was going through and cared enough to enliven me towards my God-given potential. I came back to my hometown Vienna inspired and thrilled by the vision that Innovista saw in me and invested into me.
And I decided: in my life I want to do the same.
This challenge is a great opportunity for many to actually see what Innovista does daily. No, Innovista is not about cycling – we also work on our desks sometimes. ;-) In fact a significant share of our time and effort is spent on research and development. But we are “on the road” and ready to do whatever it takes. We stand in the gap for the younger generations of Europe and Central Asia who are ever so often deprived of a credible opportunity to meet their true identity and purpose in Christ. We invest in young leaders who will lead and multiply this challenge over their generation in their hometowns in their own ways.
Unfortunately I don’t have much to give so I put myself in the tray and every pedal that brings me closer to Paris in order to tip the scales towards the better for 6 young leaders and their communities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia – because I know what a difference one true leader can make. I myself have been blessed and am still seeing the amazing impact of those who believe and invest in me. Their love, prayer and support are the foundation of my work and my journey of growth. I want to pass this on to the next generation of young leaders with whatever I can give.
